We at Humans Move take data management and privacy seriously.
We process personal data relating to our audience, participants, funders, donors and all those who are interested in what we do.
We also process data relating to all the people who work with us including performers, theatre producers, composers, other artists, technicians etc.
What personal data do we collect from you?
Personal data is any information relating to an identifiable living individual. For audiences and people who may work with us, we only collect the personal data we need to be able to provide you with information about our performances, events, and work opportunities you have asked us to tell you about.
If you are taking part in one of our participation projects, we may need to take more personal health information and emergency contact details to allow us to deliver our participation projects safely.
Personal/contact information: this can include your name, contact address, email addresses, telephone numbers.
Sensitive Health Information: when participating in our projects we may ask for additional information on specific health conditions the team need to be aware of when delivering a session for safety and emergencies, and Doctor/GP contact details and emergency contact details.
Digital information: IP addresses, and details of your interaction with our website and social media, should you engage with us through these channels. You will be asked a Privacy consent pop up question when you visit our website.
Correspondence: information relevant to your specific enquiries.
Payment information: your bank details for billing or payment purposes.
Other: any other information you choose to provide to us eg for audiences, the type of shows and projects you are interested in attending. For artists, technicians, administrators, marketing specialists etc – your profession.
When do we collect personal data?
We will collect information about you when you enter into a working contract with us, make enquiries about work and performances, visit our website and engage with us on social media, or sign up to our newsletter.
Information from third parties
We occasionally receive information about you from other sources. For example, as we are a touring dance theatre company we may receive your personal information when you book tickets through venues where we are performing with your consent. We will always contact you to let you know if we have been given your information from a third party, and we will always tell you how to access this policy so you know how we will use your data.
We also use information from Facebook and Instagram to inform us about those who connect and engage with our content. Please refer to their own Privacy Policies.
Sensitive Personal Information
Data Protection law recognises that certain categories of personal information are more sensitive such as health information, race, religious beliefs and political opinions. If you are working on a freelance and participation project with us, we may, with your consent, collect details about relevant health issues so we could assist you better in case of emergency. In these cases, the information would be destroyed immediately after the event or participation project ended.
How we will manage personal data at Humans Move

How will we use your personal data?
We may process the information we collect about you:

The lawful basis for this processing is performance of a contract with you or because you have asked us to take specific steps before entering into a contract in respect of these activities and services;

- to provide you with information by post (or by email, with your consent) about other performances, projects, events or workshops similar in nature to those you currently attend or have previously asked about. Information we may process for this purpose includes your name, address, telephone number and email address. This processing is necessary for marketing our performances, which is a legitimate business interest.

You can also opt out of marketing information by clicking the unsubscribe link in emails we send via Mailchimp.
- to send you communications required by law or which are necessary to inform you about changes to the way we interact with you, for example, updates to this Privacy Statement, and any information legally required which relates to any contracts between us. These service messages will not include any promotional content and do not require prior consent when sent by email or text message. This processing is necessary for us to comply with our legal obligations.Â

Who do we share your data with?

We may also share your data with third parties, such as our IT consultants/cloud-based back-up service/email marketing company etc. to support the efficient running of our business.
If this is necessary, we will provide only the information they need to perform the services we require. They will only use the data for the purposes we specify. We require third parties to maintain appropriate security to protect information from unauthorised access or processing.
In some circumstances, we may need to share your personal data with other third parties (including legal or other advisers, regulatory authorities, courts and government agencies) to enable us to enforce our legal rights, or where such disclosure may be permitted or required by law.
Unless we tell you otherwise, and save for data contained within our email marketing provider Mailchimp (which is based in Georgia, USA and is compliant with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework), your data will not be processed outside the EEA.
Cookies Policy
Cookies is the term used to track people’s individual computer or mobile device source. We use Google Analytics to track engagement on our website to learn more about how people use our website and how we can make improvements to accessibility. You will be asked to Consent to Cookies access when you visit our website. You can still access our website if you choose not to opt in. We also use data from Google Analytics to report to our funders.
How long do we keep your data?
If you sign up to our email marketing list, we will keep your personal data on Mailchimp. We will continue to send you information if you are actively opening the email. If the account is active after 2 years we will remove you from our lists. You also have the option to opt out of this list at any time.
If you work for us as a freelance performer, musician, technician, administrator or in any other capacity, we will keep your details on file so that we can contact you easily should relevant work opportunities come up which may interest you. In other circumstances, we will only keep personal data for as long as we reasonably need to keep the information for lawful business purposes or to comply with a statutory or other legal requirement.
Data security
We will take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data we transmit, store or otherwise process against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration or unauthorised disclosure or access. Our computers and mobile devices are password protected.
